True Tuesday returns and coincides with Blood Reign’s next edition:
This week’s Throwback Thursday offers a double feature. On the New Orleans Movie Examiner page I will be reviewing Men in Black and on the New Orleans Horror Movie page is a review of Nightmare on Elm Street 2
In 1984 Wes Craven created the legendary vehicle that launched Robert Englund’s career.
Tonight I wrap up reviewing Wes Craven’s Scream franchise with Scream 4. Wes Craven takes a morbid tongue in cheek look at the remake craze in the horror genre. Craven has spawned many iconic pop culture lines and its my opinion that Scream 4 drops “What’s your favorite scary movie,” in favor of Sydney’s line in the climax, “You forgot the first rule of a remake don’t f$^k with the original!”
Scream 4 is right up with Scream 1, the original Nightmare, the original Halloween, and The Fog as some of my all time favorite horror movies. Scream 4 is definitely one of the best movies Craven has to offer.
Sunday Spotlight is a head of schedule and issues in a variation on the sequels series currently being reviewed by Kristina Stancil. You can not do a series on remakes without touching on a classic iconic horror franchise. As Scream 4 wraps up the Scream series Sunday Spotlight issues in yet another masterpiece of Wes Craven by taking on Freddy Krueger.
